Virgin Atlantic Airways' first twin-engined aeroplane ever, their first Airbus A.330-300 G-VSXY, made a line training appearance at Newcastle Airport this afternoon, arriving from Manston and departing to London-Gatwick. Only the eighth of the significantly more impressive -300 variant of the A.330 to land at Newcastle Airport, it is also by far the newest, the factory-fresh machine being MSN1195, over 1,000 wide-bodied Airbus' since our previous newest machine, MSN0171 which visited in 2005! The machine becomes the seventh Virgin wide-body to visit Newcastle Airport, following five Boeing 747s, and our very first 'big Airbus', A.340 G-VSKY on a similar training sortie as 'XY' on 7th February 1994.
