Today at Newcastle Airport
Monday 4th November 2002 - By Andy Hutchings

Volga Dnepr Antonov An-124 RA-82047 made a return to Newcastle Airport today, to operate the second part of the offshore crane shipment to South Africa - the aircraft had been the first of the type to land at Newcastle over five and a half years ago. With five landings at the airport now of this impressive machine, I suppose we've been unlucky to have had two 'returnees' in the past few days. This series of photos show the aircraft on stand this afternoon, spending its usual four minutes on the runway threshold, and finally the same aircraft almost in exactly the same position on the type's first landing at Newcastle Airport on the afternoon of Saturday 12th April 1997.
